Jessie J is working hard on her upcoming album, and it could be arriving as soon as next year.
Jessie J’s Last Album Came Out in 2018
Jessie’s last album was 2018’s This Christmas Day. Prior to that, she released Sweet Talker in 2014, which gave us hits such as the iconic “Bang Bang” alongside Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. Now, after a long wait, fans could be getting their follow-up, and it might arrive in 2022!
An insider told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Jessie still needs to swing by the studio a couple more times to add a few more vocals and then the album is done. It will be out in 2022 but the exact plans are yet to be finalized. It’s been a long time coming. Jessie is certainly very proud of it.”
The publication recently reported that the pop star, who recently went through a breakup, has channeled heartbreak into the personal record. Jessie previously shared, “There’s a lot of honesty in there because obviously, I’ve lived a lot of life that people want to know about. I’ve always been controversial without being offensive. I like to stand on the edge but not fall off. I like to bleed out and make people stand in the middle of their f****** s***, good and bad, as I do that for myself.”
She Wants to Make Her Next Album Perfect
The hitmaker also confessed she’s been having a hard time trying to make her next album perfect. Most importantly, better than her debut album released 10 years ago. “The challenge of beating that is the hardest thing,” she added. “And I haven’t. ‘Bang Bang’ nearly got there … ‘I can hang out with you at a party,’ these songs can say to the old songs.”
Jessie has not yet revealed the exact date of when the new album will be coming out, but she finished, “These songs are not for a turtleneck, you know what I’m saying?”
Jessie recently shared a solo single during the summer to tease the new era, the electrifying “I Want Love.” Maybe a new single could be arriving anytime soon? We’ll have to wait and see!
