Cage The Elephant have announced the release of the deluxe version of their second studio album, Thank You Happy Birthday. The album, which came out in 2011, was the second release from the group, and included singles “Shake Me Down” and “Aberdeen.”
American rock band Cage The Elephant was formed in 2006 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Two years passed before the band moved to London, where the group dropped their first full-length album, self-titled. The band saw Matt Shultz on vocals, his older brother Brad Shultz on rhythm guitar, Nick Bockrath on lead guitar, Matthan Minster on keyboards, Daniel Tichenor on bass and Jared Champion on drums. They immediately gained a spark of success, but it was only in 2011, with their combination of synthesizers, raw instrumentals yet pop-influenced vocals and melodies, that Thank You Happy Birthday became the band’s leading record.
The advent of TikTok skyrocketed the group’s music to the top of the charts, in particular, their dreampop anthems “Cigarette Daydream” and “Come A Little Closer.” Their second album turns 13 next year, and the members want to celebrate it.
