Ackquille Jean Pollard

Ackquille Jean Pollard, musically known as Bobby Shmurda, is an American rapper. Born in 1994, he rose to fame in 2014 with the song Hot N**ga. With almost 400 millions streams on Spotify and 3,5 million monthly streamers, the song is Bobby Shmurda’s most famous single, and helped him get recognition in and outside of the hip hop scene. Since his growing success, the artist has been very influential. In particular, he is famous for being one of the main figures in the Brooklyn Drill scene. Moreover, in his almost-ten-year-long career, the artist also collaborated with multiple well-known and praised artists. An example is the single Shmoney, for which the artist worked with Quavo from Migos.

They Don’t Know and Getting Em Back

On April 29 Bobby Shmurda released his first single since he left Epic Records, They Don’t Know. The song is the first single that the artist released independently. With over 1 million streams on Spotify after less than a month from it’s release, They Don’t Know has been globally recognised as a hit. “This is just how I’m starting things off,” the artist shared on his social platforms after publishing the single.

In fact, he returned soon after with a new single, Getting Em Back. Released at the end of May, Getting Em Back already proved to be a highly appreciated single that fans loved, saying it’s energy is “on another level.” In particular, the popularity of this last single may depend also on the trend associated with it, which the artist highlighted multiple times.
