Released on June 7, “Lowlife” is the new single of Dominic Richard Harrison, aka YUNGBLUD. The British songwriter is now busy with his YUNGBLUD – The World Tour, but still had the time to work on this new track. “Lowlife” is YUNGBLUD’s way to sincerely say: “I can’t take it anymore, I need a break”.
The artist has indeed revealed in a statement that the song was written in a time where he didn’t want to be anything at all. “I wrote ‘Lowlife’ because I just didn’t want to leave my house. I was sick of people, of games, of myself, my friends. Anytime I did anything some idiot had an opinion about what I should do or be”.
The New Classic
A genuine and energetic work made with the typical rebellion of YUNGBLUD’s music. The new classic inspired by that ’90s pop punk that the Gen Z is slowly starting to re-discover. Because YUNGBLUD sets the dissatisfaction of today’s generation to music.
Not a working class hero, since as he likes to say: “I’ve never been broke, but I have been broken.” It is a sonic and emotional detachment from the artist’s past works, which returns to its origins, taking risks and accompanying itself with a rich and detailed production with a new and nostalgic flavor at the same time.
‘YUNGBLUD – The World Tour‘
YUNGBLUD recently completed a massive run of shows across the UK and Europe – as well as festivals in South America – as part of his ongoing world tour. He is touring the United States this summer and will be back in the UK later this week for a performance at the Eden Project.
