“You” Lets Both Troye Sivan and Tate McRae Shine

Two pop stars and one DJ make for a smash hit on new single, “You.”

Three Big Stars Make One Huge Hit On “You”

Aussie pop star Troye Sivan knew exactly what he was doing recruiting Tate McRae and DJ Regard on his new single.

McRae’s hefty vocal range perfectly juxtaposes Sivan’s silky, sweet tone on “You.” Regard’s production allows these two to shine without overpowering them. Yet, the song still has strength to it found in uptempo, glossy beats. Together, these three multi-talented musicians crafted a passionate, dance-pop track about yearning and loss.

The first verse, which Sivan stumbles into with upbeat fervor, croons “How could you ever leave me without a chance to try? How can I be sorry if I don’t know the crime? I should be mad ’cause you never told me why – still, I can’t seem to say goodbye.”

McRae’s first solo has her twinkling and harmonizing. “I’m good at overthinking, but I haven’t even got this far. All I know is that my mind is in the backseat of your Corvette car.”

The Magic Of A Good Collab

Troye Sivan is no stranger to a collaboration. If anything, a chart-topping single featuring his talented friends is his bread and butter. His collaboration history ranges from Ariana Grande to Charli XCX to Kacey Musgraves. He has an ability to balance out differing vocals and storytelling lyrics like no other – making him the perfect collaborator.

Regard’s most iconic collaborative track just scored him a BRITS nomination. “Secrets,” the DJ’s fun and immersive song with RAYE, is up for Best British Single. This new single, “You,” will probably be his next thanks to it’s danceable, romantic vibe.

McRae’s pop stardom might be fresh, but it’s special all on her own… and alongside other talented names. Her hits with Lil Mosey and Ali Gatie are definite fan favorites and proved her worth as a full blown star. “You” with Troye Sivan and DJ Regard is just another new notch in her new pop star belt.
