CAPRISONGS-COVER ART-FKA twigsFKA twigs – CAPRISONGS

Earlier this year, the alternative queen herself released one of her most exploratory projects to date.  The mixtape, CAPRISONGS, saw twigs collaborating with a strong cast of musicians.  Of which, she says most of them she had never worked with before.  The project was a show of how surrounding yourself with love brings healing. The debut single, “Tears In The Club” was a dance-ready track featuring nonother than The Weeknd.  In addition to him, other features on the mixtape include Shygirl, Daniel Caesar, Jorja Smith, and many more.  The album was a pivot away from the metallic balled style of her other critically acclaimed works.  However, because of that, it was a refreshing reminder of FKA twigs’ endless one-of-a-kind talent.  Read our review of it here.

Megan Thee Stallion enlisted Dua Lipa for one of the most iconic collabs ever with “Sweetest Pie”.  Exciting is that the brilliantly catchy song is the first from Megan’s second studio album.  Together, Megan and Dua made a pop-perfect song inspired by the seductive witch from Hansel and Gretal.  Even better than the playful hit, the two made a one-for-the-books music video for the track.  In it, the two witch-around capturing boys for their own pleaser.  It is endlessly hot and a true showing of some of the biggest pop stars in the game.  To read the full scoop on the enchanting song click here.

Charli XCX is just about to release her fifth studio album Crash on March 18th.  The project is 80’s inspired and takes influence from Janet Jackson, says Charli.  Leading up to the project, she debuted a slew of singles: “Good Ones“, “New Shapes“, “Beg For You“, “Baby“, and the most recent, “Every Rule”.  All of which were lo-fi synth forward pop songs.  In all, the project is a total departure from her previous How I’m Feeling Now.  With this era, Charli wants to step away from what people expect of her and have her “full pop-girl moment.”  We can’t wait to see Charli continue to impress.

MOTOMAMI - ROSALÍAROSALÍA – MOTOMAMI

ROSALÍA has had a strong lead-up to her upcoming 3rd studio album, MOTOMAMI.  The debut single “LA FAMA” with The Weeknd was a breakout hit.  Since then the artists released “SAOKO” – a homage to reggaeton sampling reggaeton’s very own Daddy Yankee.  The track was experimental sonically but follows a theme common in her music: transformation.  Additionally, the Spanish artist released “CHICKEN TERIYAKI.”  Undoubtedly, the song is catchy as hell.  Talking about the track ROSALÍA says, “There’s irony in the lyrics. And yeah, just remember having fun with it.”  Listen to ROSALÍA’s upcoming album on March 18th.
