Coachella 2023 Lineup

Through the weekends of April 14th-16th and April 21st-23rd, Coachella will be returning to the desert with a jam-packed lineup. With headliners Bad Bunny, BlackPink, Frank Ocean, and a guest appearance from Calvin Harris, fans are hyped up for this one. Also featured on the lineup are artists Rosalía, Willow, Björk, Charli XCX, Burna Boy, Glorilla, and many more. The event will be occurring at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

Making a Comeback

The music festival returned just last year, after a 2 year break due to the pandemic in 2020, and ongoing coronavirus concerns in 2021. This break was the first that Coachella had ever had. In April of 2022, Coachella returned with headliners Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, and Swedish House Mafia. In fact, Ye was originally supposed to headline the last day. Less than 10 days before the weekend of the festival, he was removed from the lineup.

This year, Coachella is bringing out many artists. Kali Uchis, A Boogie, Pi’erre Bourne, Flo Milli, YUNGBLUD, and even Idris Elba are coming!

Not to mention, Frank Ocean will be performing live for the first time since 2019. Fans are ecstatic to see him on the stage again and to cry in the audience to “Nikes” or “Ivy.” Frank was actually supposed to perform for Coachella 2020, until the event got cancelled due to the pandemic. The festival co-founder, Paul Tollett, announced this news back in 2021, after the second cancellation of the festival.

Tollett told the Los Angeles Times, “Right now, it’s the Wild West. I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.” Some fans are only going to Coachella to see Frank, who’s huge fan base has missed him on the stage. Frank’s Blonde recently hit its 7 year anniversary mark. Will he be performing this or something new?

Global Lineup

The addition of many global artists is very significant this year. This year the US has had a taste of global artists gaining more traction and receiving more recognition; in today’s society, everybody listens to everything!

For one, we have Bad Bunny, who’s record Un Verano Sin Ti became the first all Spanish album to top Billboard’s year-end U.S album charts. To add on, we have BLACKPINK, one of the female groups leading the K-Pop phenomenon. Furthermore, we have Spanish star Rosalía and Nigerian Afrobeats essence Burna Boy. The inclusion is remarkable and shows just how expansive music is now. Artists aren’t afraid to be themselves and embrace their heritage within their music.
