TWICE, 2023 Billboard Women in Music Breakthrough Award recipient, begins a new era with their READY TO BE EP, out March 10. The veteran K-pop girl group crashed onto the scene nearly seven years ago, and left the world watching ever since.
From becoming the first K-pop girl group to debut at #1 on both Billboard World charts (with 2018’s “Likey”) and the first to surpass 1 billion streams, their 12th mini album feels like a miniscule stepping stone in comparison. However, the glossy synths and cute charm on their new fully-English song, “Moonlight Sunrise,” forever marks Twice as an international force.
2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards
On March 1, fans at the Billboard Women in Music Awards were all clearly a part of ONCE (Twice’s fanbase) and so was Sabrina Carpenter. The “Nonsense” singer excitedly announced the group’s achievement.
“I had a really really good time when was in Japan. I covered their song ‘Candy Pop’ on tour; it’s one of my favorites, but I have so many favorites of theirs[…]” said Carpenter, “[…]I really really hope this award will expose them to an even wider us audience, but I do have to say [that] I think they’re doing pretty well so far.”
Chaeyoung and Tzuyu powered through language barriers to give a powerful message: “This title– Breakthrough Artists– proves that if you confidently push through your dream, people who support you will always be your team– you will break through. And this accomplishment will forever motivate us to challenge ourselves and break more barriers on word.”

Ready To Be EP by TWICE
The 7-track project further pushes Twice’s “color pop” style to new heights. In a recent interview with Billboard, Nayeon says it is a n ambitious project to “grow up even more, further, as artists.” The stellar lead single “Moonlight Sunrise” will appear on the EP.
Just days ago, JYP Entertainment released a sneak peak of the EP on YouTube, giving ONCE a taste of what’s to come March 10. While electro-pop and flirty hip-hop dominates the album, “Blame It On Me” is a rocker wildcard. The final track is an English version of the EP’s opener “Set Me Free.”
