Reason For Hospitalization

On Tuesday June 28th, the Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker was hospitalized for pancreatitis. He was accompanied by his wife Kourtney Kardashian, at West Hills Hospital, later transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

What is Pancreatitis

To clarify, Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas that causes swelling and irritation. The inflamed pancreas can damage your lungs, kidneys and heart. The pancreas is a gland located in the upper abdomen connecting to the small intestine. Secondly, the condition is likely to affect people that smoke, drink heavily, have gallstones and have a family history of pancreatitis. He and Kourtney request privacy as they battle through his frightening health issues.

Barker’s Return To The Stage

Barker is currently still recovering, and feels signicantly better. Last Wednesday he surprised the audience at a Machine Gun Kelly Concert. MGK is currently on his Mainstream Sellout tour. Travis joined MGK on stage to play drums on smash hits “Tickets to My Downfall” and “Bloody Valentine.” This is his first performance after his hospitalization.

Barker’s Wife and Children

Notably, Kourtney has been by his side since his hospitalization, as well as Barker’s daughter Alabama. This health scare came just after a month of the couple having recently tied the knot last month in Italy. Fans have followed their affectionate PDA relationship through the past year. On the other hand, his other children Landon and Atiana are staying in New York City at this time. Alabama took to her instagram story to write “Thank you guys for all the prayers and love, I appreciate you & love all of you,” along with a photo of her hand next to her father’s.

Blink-182

Amid his health crisis, Travis tweeted “God save me,” before the public learned of his hospitalization . This worried his fans about his wellbeing. Travis has amassed a huge fan base, from being the drummer in the popular rock band Blink-182. The band emerged in the late 90s and gave us hit singles “M+Ms,” “Dammit,” “What’s my age again?” and  “All The Small Things” plus more.

Barker’s Impact On Punk Rock

In conclusion, the Blink-182 drummer has made a name for himself outside of the band collaborating on hits with Machine Gun Kelly, Willow Smith, Iann Dior and creating his own solo tracks. Travis has made an impact on modern punk rock popularizing the genre among the new generation.
