“TOO MUCH”
A collaboration no one could have predicted: The Kid LAROI, Jung Kook and Central Cee. The Australian rapper and singer has brought in Kpop artist Jung Kook and UK rapper Central Cee for a single that nobody expected. “TOO MUCH” is an atmospheric, vibey pop ballad with a catchy chorus and memorable verses. The song is the second pre-release single from The Kid LAROI’s debut studio album, THE FIRST TIME.
The Lyrics
Jung Kook kicks off the song with the chorus, which he’s in charge of for the rest of the song. “If we had the chance and the time to spend / Would you do it again? Would you do it again? / Was it too much? / Was it too much?”
The Kid LAROI starts with the first verse. “So tell me what got in the way / And how I thought it was good that it changed.” He continues, singing, “And I’m sayin’ I’m sorry again / Oh, I could never get out of my way.” Then, in the pre-chorus, LAROI tries to further his point before handing it back to Jung Kook. “Let me love you the way that I do now / I never knew how,” he sings.
When Central Cee comes in on verse two, he raps about all the things he does for his partner. He wonders if what he does is too much. “When your girlfriends told you I been f*ckin’ ’round / Would you believe me if I told you that they’re lyin’ and that’s just a rumor? / Send you my personal driver, man, this ain’t just an Uber.”
Made clear from the lyrics, the song is about what ifs and regret. All three artists express feelings of contemplating other choices from their past. They wonder if they’ll have another chance at trying their relationship again.
