Indie pop band Telenova release their second EP, Stained Glass Love. The album also contains previously released singles “Scarlet,” “Haunted” and “Why Do I Keep You?”
Telenova
Telenova is an Australian alternative and indie pop trio from Melbourne. The band formed in 2020 when the three members, singer and video maker Angeline Armstrong, multi-instrumentalists and producers Edward Quinn and Joshua Moriarty met.
Infused with alt-electronic pop vibes, the band created a sound that mixes groovy beds with a strong bass to ethereal and almost whispery voice. Spacemusic and new age inspired, the production comes out as a soothing and hypnotic sound. Unexpected notes and unpredictable instrumental moments are what defines the psychedelic and otherworldly tone of the band.
Feeling like your brought to another dimension is not rare when listening to Telenova’s first release EP Tranquilize. The album includes two of the band’s most popular hits, 2021 debut single “Bones” and album-titled track, “Tranquilize.”
The alternative, indie sound is the focus part of Stained Glass Love as well.
Stained Glass Love
Stained Glass Love is the band’s second EP. The album included six songs that follow the tone set by the band so far. Singles like “Scarlet,” the third track from the EP, the band created a catchy representation and emblematic version of their cinematic music.
The album also includes previous released singles “Haunted” and “Why Do I Keep You?”
Telenova went on their social accounts to comment the EP: “These five songs all felt like a shedding of the skin for me, peeling it back, layer by layer.” The band’s spokesman then added how the writing of the songs progressed alongside stages of self growth: “I can pinpoint the exact moments and experiences in my past that really marked me and grew me as a person. Those moments form the setting of each of these five songs.”
