Taylor Swift surprise drop of 4 songs

To celebrate the kickoff of the Eras Tour in Arizona, Taylor Swift unveils four new songs from her never-ending repertoire. The announcement of the three re-recordings and one never-seen-before single is the best way for the singer to kick her long-awaited North American tour.

At this point we can take it for granted: Taylor Swift (almost) always wins. Even in court. Shake It Off is finally free from the allegations

Anticipating The Eras Tour

Only 12 hours before the release of the four surprise tracks, Swift announced on her Instagram Stories:

“In celebration of The Eras Tour I’m releasing 4 previously unreleased songs tonight at midnight,”

At midnight, three re-recordings and one never-seen-before single saw the light on every music platform. The four tracks include re-recordings of Swift’s dual contributions to the 2012 soundtrack to The Hunger Games. These are “Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version)” and “Safe & Sound” featuring Joy Williams and John Paul White. Taylor’s Version of 2010 Speak Now‘s “If This Was A Movie was released as well, becoming the last clue to confirm that the next album to re-released will be Speak Now. The never-before-heard song “All The Girls You’ve Loved Before” dropped as well.

Once again, Taylor turns a possible wound into her weapon, remastering the songs stolen in the controversy surrounding her masters. As non-album cuts, these surprise drops give Taylor the opportunity to retake a few songs that wouldn’t have seen the light otherwise. But All The Girls You’ve Loved Before, the only “never before heard” song in the lineup, is the clear headliner. This song was leaked back in February, prompting fans to call for its official release. “All The Girls You’ve Loved Before” was presumably recorded during her “Lover” era, and is an extremely catchy pop ballad.

Whether you wanted a new version of Reputation or Speak Now, we can agree that the tour couldn’t have started in a better way.

We know getting the tickets for one of the nights was tricky. However, you can head to musicdaily.com to see when Taylor will be in your area.
