Adding More Star Power To This Year’s SXSW Panels

This March, music fans can immerse themselves in the artistic dreamscape that is SXSW, or South by Southwest music festival. From March 8th to the 16th, the Austin conference will hold multiple panels for aspiring music professionals and enthusiasts to converge in the heart of the Texas music capital. It’s a creative’s dream come true. Congregating in the same space with like-minded individuals, punctuated by icons giving advice from their time in the industry. And this year’s conference has just been boosted with the addition of Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney as keynote speakers.

As six-time GRAMMY award recipients, Auerbach and Carney can provide some invaluable insight to budding music industry professionals. Known best for their 2011 album, El Camino, the Black Keys have cemented themselves as blues rock staples. Their most notable tracks include “Lonely Boy,” “Gold on the Ceiling” and “Little Black Submarine.” Just these three tracks alone have accumulated three-quarters of a billion streams. And this is only scraping the surface of the long list of accolades achieved by the Black Keys over the years.
