Swedish House Mafia Releases New Track ‘See The Light’

EDM group Swedish House Mafia released their new track “See The Light” on May 27th featuring American rapper Fridayy. Played at the Ultra Music Festival back in March, the group ended the night with the surprise tease track. The track is featured in the new EA Sports Formula One soundtrack for the Monaco Grand Prix.

The group used propulsive synths to create effusive energy along with vocal transmission to match their signature sound. With the vocals, the American rapper Fridayy creates the happy tone mixing in with the strong drum sound. The track marks one piece of the group’s return to the world of EDM with its trial of new music. As the group is currently trying a new sonic sound, they are also pulling from personal experiences.

The trio includes Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angelo. As all three of them were big EDM stars starting out, they bonded together in 2008, setting the tone for the early 2010s EDM boom. Quickly becoming famous, they made the top 10 of the DJ Mag Top 100 poll in 2011. In 2012, they were number 12 on the same poll. In June of 2012, the group decided to split after their final performance in Miami. Angello started working solo as Ingrosso and Axwell formed a duo. A few years later in 2018, they came back together to preform a surprise closing set at the same festival. In 2022, they released their debut album Paradise Again.

With the new album, the song “Heaven Takes You Home” landed at number one on the US dance radio charts. It has been on the top 20 list for 19 weeks straight. They are also the producers of “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)”, the theme song of the new Avatar movie. As their most famous single has been “Don’t You Worry Child”, the group’s future looks bright. Their next live set will be at the Kappa Future Festival in Torino, Italy on June 30th and will play in various international locations throughout the summer and fall through December.

To celebrate the drop of the new single, the group played a surprise set at the E1 London fan show to cap off their UK tour that ended on May 28th.  The three commented on the releases, telling Hypebeast , “We missed our UK family and can’t wait to be back to celebrate the release and the new chapter of what’s to come.”
