SG Lewis just dropped his debut album Times, and to keep celebrating, he released the music video for his hit single ‘One More.’ The single, featuring Nile Rodgers, is a dance-pop anthem that will surely make you want to show off your best moves.
The Meaning of Times
On the Times release date, the English DJ took over to Instagram to give the big announcement. “HELLO EVERYONE. My debut album ‘times’ is OUT NOW 🎉 It’s felt like a long time coming, and I have so many people to thank who have been a part of this journey (more on that later). I wouldn’t change a single thing over the last 6 years, and I’m grateful for every single one of you who has supported me and my music. I hope this album can provide some escapism and euphoria in these testing times. Can’t wait to celebrate together around the world when it’s safe to do so again 🌎 ‘TIMES’ OUT NOW BABY.”
He shared to Apple Music what ‘One More’ meant to him. “This was the first song written for the record, and it was written in a very different world. This song is about the potential of a relationship with someone that you meet on a night out. I think that potential can often be more exciting than the reality of something.”
SG Lewis is Thankful for Niles Rodgers
While talking with NME, SG Lewis also explained how thankful he was for Niles jumping in for the collab. “The song literally wouldn’t exist without Nile Rodgers. His influence and the way that the bass guitar is played are all Chic moves. When you get in the studio with him, he has such an ear for things that feel joyous and celebratory. Working with him was an experience that will stay with me for the rest of my life. To have someone who has influenced not only this album, but my entire career play on this song is mind-blowing.”
In the ‘One More’ music video, we see SG Lewis and a mysterious girl living a regular day in their lives, separately. That’s until they get to meet at a nightclub where they spend the rest of the night together, dancing the night away. After they go their separate ways, destine unites them once again and they see the sunrise together.
