Rockefeller Center Welcomes Christmas

The Christmas season has officially begun, and to announce it is the NBC Christmas Concert in Rockefeller Center. With incredible guests, including Jimmie Allen, Andrea Bocelli, Alicia Keys, Blake Shelton and many others, the show of one of the world’s most famous Christmas trees kicks off the holidays.

What city if not New York could be the one tasked with hosting one of the most famous Christmas concerts? Welcoming the world favorite 82-foot-tall, 50-foot-wide Norway spruce from Queensbury, New York, the city kicks the holiday period. With its 50,000 multi-coloured LED lights and a three-dimensional Swarovski star covered in 3 million crystals, the tree is worldly famous and a huge tourist attraction. And, as for the last 89th years, Rockefeller Center has also presented the Christmas Concert in Rockefeller Center.

The two-hour telecast aired on Wednesday, November 30. In the concert, incredible names performed Christmas season classics and hits. The show started with “Jingle Bell Rock,” performed by Mickey Guyton. In the artist list couldn’t miss Andrea Bocelli along with Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli, who performed John Lennon’s holiday classic “Happy Xmas (War is Over).” Jimmy Allen performed together with Louis York & The Shindellas in the vibrant “What Does It Mean.” David Foster and Katharine McPhee, Brett Eldredge, The Muppets of Sesame Street, Dan + Shay, and more joined the stage as well in multiple performances. A special bit by Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph performed as well.

Alicia Keys joined as well, giving her magical voice to “Santa Baby.”

Plus, Shelton and Stefani deliver a rare nationally televised duet of their holiday single, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” The long time collaboration of the couple on The Voice wouldn’t stop the duo to take part to another performance together. Shelton and Stefani joined NBC concert and gave a romantic performance together on the Rockefeller stage. The star took the stage several times during the event. Finally, she performed also with her husband, Blake Shelton.

The couple performed the fans’ favorite “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” One of the couple’s four collaborations, the song was incredibly loved by the public. The other three collaborations are “Go Ahead And Break My Heart,” as well as their two chart-topping hits “Nobody But You” and “Happy Anywhere.”
