Meta kicked off their Horizon Block Party this past weekend on July 15 with none other than Post Malone. The summer-long series of VR concerts allows 18+ Quest 2 owners to enjoy an immersive music experience. “Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache: A VR Experience” entails a 40-minute pre-recorded performance of Posty’s latest record with appearances from The Kid LAROI, Roddy Rich, and Fleet Foxes. Post Malone brought Roddy Rich and Fleet Foxes to the stage when he performed on SNL back in May. Read more about it here.
“I’m pumped for the fans to have this VR experience of Twelve Carat Toothache,” Post Malone said in a Meta blog post. “We put so much work into this to make it as incredible as possible. Thank you to everyone who helped bring this to life.”
Don’t have a Quest headset? No problem. The performance was also available for 2D streaming as well through Meta and Post Malone’s Facebook pages. If you didn’t make it to the Horizon Block Party, users can find the performance in the “Always On” room in Horizon Worlds as well as Oculus TV.
The Fun Doesn’t Stop Here…
But not only is Posty giving us a hyped virtual performance, but he’s hitting the road IRL. Legendary rockers the Red Hot Chili Peppers are taking him on tour with them down under. They’ll perform six shows together in January/February of 2023 across Australia and New Zealand.
This is a treat since Post Malone hasn’t toured in the continent in four years. And with Aussie star The Kid LAROI being featured on his latest album, fans could likely enjoy their collab “Wasting Angels” live.
