Taylor Swift is currently THE name of the moment. Her last album Midnights is taking everything she could have expected, and probably even more. Taylor has broken all the records occupying not only the top of the Billboard’s Top 100 Singles Chart, but the entire Top ten. The massive success is testified by numbers. Tracks like “Maroon,” “Midnight Rain,” “Snow On The Beach,” “Lavender Haze” and “Anti-Hero” have more than 100 million streams each. However, today we’re not here to talk about this record breaker again. But instead her opener. The musician, dancer and choreographer: Owenn.

Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga And Many Others

You may not know it, but you’ve seen Taylor’s tour opener before. Owenn is indeed not a new face of the music biz; he started as a dance performer for Lady Gaga and Alicia Keys at only 17 and two years later, he joined Rihanna on tour. Thanks to the reputation he has made, Owenn has always worked closely to some of the most influential artists of our times (Beyoncé, Normani, John Legend, Megan Thee Stallion, Miley Cyrus and many others). Most recently, he choreographed pieces of Lil Nas X’s Long Live Montero Tour. Owenn even opened for Lil Nas X in September 2022 at the Radio City Music Hall date during his tour.

Owenn Scores Record Deal And Taylor’s Esteem

Between all these names, the most intense collaboration has definitely been the one with Swift. The two started to work together in 2014 for the tour of Taylor’s fifth album, 1989. The pop phenomenon has never hidden her esteem for Owenn. The 6′ 3” is now under Island Records/Atlantic Entertainment and made his singing debut just last year with the drop of “Baby Girl,” a bluesy pop/rock love letter. But, the best part starts now.

Owenn will open six dates of the Eras Tour, from June 2 (Chicago, IL) to August 4 (Los Angeles, CA). A past as a dancer, a present as a performer, and a future to be written. Surely, there will be a lot of dance and much more music to come.
