MaRLO's new single, "Oceans," might be the coolest song of the summer.

As of June 21st, Dutch trance DJ MaRLO released his latest single “Oceans.” This track features a fast-flowing riptide with enchanting vocalization and rolling melodic leads. It makes it one of the coolest tracks of the summer. The track follows “Kick Bass,” a collaboration with Uberjack’d, released back in May. It also follows MaRLO’s other 2024 singles, such as “You Are Not Alone” with Mila Josef and “Giratina Reborn” with Dimatik.

Given his background in trance music, this Australia-based DJ is known for pushing limits. Especially those of trance music, which has become more popular over the last couple of years. Since launching his Altitude concert series, he has grown to more than 50,000 attendees, along with nine sold-out shows. He is also a prominent figure in the EDM festival circuit, playing at Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra Music Festival, A State of Trance and Transmission.

Commenting on the new release, the DJ told Music Essentials, “I’ve always loved the ocean.” He continued, “The raw, overwhelming power and vastness that exists in perfect harmony with its gentle beauty and flowing nature; it’s always brought me plenty of inner peace and inspired admiration. I tried to incorporate just a little bit of that incredible power into this song.”

MaRLO wasn’t an overnight success by any means. He has continued to work hard in the last 20 years of his career. Starting out in 2008, he didn’t gain traction until he captured the attention of Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance, Armind and many more successful trance artists. Since then, he has electrified the masses with his unique style of music. He’s appeared on the top 100 list of DJ Mag on four separate occasions. As he continues to make music for anyone anywhere, it will be interesting to see how far this DJ can go.
