Actor and singer-songwriter Nick Jonas will be hosting this year’s Billboard Music Awards. The ceremony will take place at the Microsoft Theather in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 23.
Nick To Make His Hosting Debut
That’s right! The youngest Jonas Brother will be joining an exclusive list of singers who have hosted the event in the past. Among them are Kelly Clarkson, who has been the host for the past three years, Phil Collins, LL Cool J, and Ludacris. That’s great company!
The current coach of The Voice broke the news on his social media accounts. He posted a funny video portraying Vice President Kamala Harris’ call to President Biden in November last year right after the news broke that he had become the new president. In the video, Vice President Harris happily expresses, “We did it! We did it, Joe. You’re going to be the next president of the United States.”
Similarly, Jonas starts his announcement holding a BMA trophy like a telephone. He then says, “Joe (referring to his older brother,) we did it. I don’t know. I don’t know how, we did it. Yeah, the preemptive, Best Host Ever award, for the Billboard Music Awards. On May 23rd on NBC. It’s unbelievable, I know. Alright, bye now.” He then shows a close-up of his trophy, which has a post-it on it. The note reads, “Best Host Ever.”
