Miley Cyrus taps country music legend Dolly Parton, her godmother, to cohost this year’s Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party airing Dec. 31 on NBC and Peacock. Parton follows the footsteps of Pete Davidson, who co-hosted with Cyrus last year.

“It’s gonna be legendary,” Parton says in a new promo spot for the special. “She would know,” Cyrus adds.
Importantly, the sophomore TV celebration will be Parton’s first co-hosting entry (that we know of.) But, it not like the duo never shared a stage, let alone a TV screen before. The legend played the recurring “Aunt Dolly” on Miley’s ticket to stardom, the early 2000s TV and music phenomenon Hannah Montana. The NBC stopping grounds should be a walk in the park for Parton after wrapping “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas” on the network.
Furthermore, the stars took to Twitter to promote the New Yea’s Eve celebration event.

New Music On The Horizon
However, the magic doesn’t stop there. Parton recently told The Tennessean she’s going to make “a rock and roll album,” inspired by her recent induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. But, she hinted at Cyrus’s possible appearance on the record.
This statement is a no-brainer as the young performer reached new heights of acclaim after her 2020 rock debut, Plastic Hearts. The project saw a host of collaborators from pop princess Dua Lipa to rock heroes Billy Idol and Joan Jett. Oh, and let’s not forget the star doing a rock rendition of Britney Spears’s iconic 2007 club hit “Gimme More.”
Although Cyrus continues the Plastic Hearts sound and catalog internationally, mysterious pop-up posters across America hint at a new era for the singer. Later, she confirms the new era by mirroring the poster’s message in her Spotify bio.
