I Made An Album is the name of the latest drop of our #mddiscovery Daði Freyr. The Iceland Eurovision star is at his discography debut with a project entirely produced and recorded by Daði Freyr himself.
I Made An Album counts 12 songs for a total of 36 minutes of music. Some of the tracks of the project (“Thank You,” “I’m Fine,” “Limit To Love”) were actually previously released in May. They were part of a 5-tracks-ep called Whole Again.
“I basically wanted this to be a very true record, to my sound and to what I’ve been working towards for the past four years,” Daði Freyr said. “I recorded all the songs in my home studio in Berlin, first in Schoneberg but when we had to move because of mold I finished it in Wedding.“
“The process started when my wife was pregnant with our second child and now that kid is starting kindergarten. I had to squeeze in time whenever I could to record and produce. Some of the songs were partially written on the road while touring since I did a lot more of that in 2021 than I had originally planned because of shows being moved as a result of the pandemic.”
Only three years ago, Daði Freyr was selected as the Icelandic entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Shortly after that, his song “Think About Things” went viral. But, I Made An Album is the start of a chapter he desperately needed.
