Leslie Jordan’s Talents Go “Farther Along”

Leslie Jordan, the veteran actor, writer, and newly Insta-famous comedian, is also adding musician to his resume. Jordan just dropped a Gospel track with Chris and Morgane Stapleton for the actor’s upcoming debut album, Company’s Comin’.

Chris Stapleton and Morgane Stapleton are huge names in country music to have on your debut album, but the collaborations don’t end there. Jordan also tapped Dolly Parton, Eddy Vedder, Brandi Carlile, TJ Osbourne, Tanya Tucker, and more. It’s safe to say the beloved actor has a lot of friends in show business.

Behind the Album

The album may surprise some casual fans, but his ‘fellow hunker-downers’ know releasing a gospel album has been a long time coming for Jordan. He grew up Southern Baptist in Chattanooga, Tennesee and his religion and its music is a major facet of who he is, especially as an openly gay man. This isn’t his first foray into writing either. Though he’s best known for his roles in the American Horror Story anthology or his popular Instagram, Jordan has written several autobiographical plays to favorable reviews. An album of his tunes is sure to be just as emotionally-open and enjoyable.

Jordan posted the full tracklist on his Instagram with the following caption.

“It’s really happening, y’all. My single called Farther Along with @chrisstapleton and @morganwithane just dropped. And, I released the album’s full tracklist with the most amazing artists. Yes, even Dolly and Eddie Vedder. You can preorder the album at the link in my bio. I am so so proud right now and it’s ALL BECAUSE OF Y’ALL. Love. Light. Leslie.”

You can preorder or pre-save Leslie Jordan’s debut album, Company’s Comin’, digitally here or listen on your favorite streaming service when it comes out April 2nd.
