Kpop Super Collaboration: (G)I-DLE, IVE and aespa Release ‘Nobody’

The three idols all hail from different South Korean music labels, setting a new Kpop standard.

(G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon, IVE’s Liz, and aespa’s Winter release the all-star collaboration “Nobody.” BIGHIT MUSIC’s singer-songwriter El Capitxn (BTS and Tomorrow X Together) and lyricist Seo Ji Eum (Red Velvet and NCT 127) front the single’s songwriting credits alongside other A-list domestic and foreign composers.

The M:USB collaboration was first announced two weeks ago on November 6, when the groups involved in the project were first revealed. “This is a collaboration that breaks existing conventions and formats,” said one of the song’s producers, per Dispatch.

“With the participation of artists, composers, lyricists and staff members who all represent K-pop, it will be a special gift for global music fans,” the statement finished.

While Liz is known as IVE’s vocalist, Soyeon is known as (G)I-DLE’s rapper, singer-songwriter and producer, and aespa’s Winter has stunning visuals.

The three idols all hail from different South Korean music labels, making this collaboration a rare gem. Soyeon is from Cube Entertainment, Winter from SM Entertainment, and Liz from Starship Entertainment.

In addition to setting a new Kpop standard, the collaboration supports South Korea’s bid to the hosting of World Expo 2030 in Busan.

In the music video, the trio enjoys the bouncy ’80s synth before joining together for the finale’s dance. While “Nobody” would sound better as a deluxe track on Twice’s READY TO BE, it follows the Kpop trend of funky dance production, popularized by BTS’ Jung Kook and V.
