Kim Petras and Martha celebrate the launch of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue 2023 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida. Petras was one of four models photographed by Yu Tsai for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue covers. The other cover stars include pop culture phenomenon Martha Stewart, model Brooks Nadar, and actress Megan Fox.
Petras is having quite the year since winning her first Grammy award for her smash hit, “Unholy” with Sam Smith. The platinum-selling song etched Petras into music history as the first openly transgender artist to score a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and win a Grammy in the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category. Petras also took home the “Chartbreaker Award” at the 2023 Billboard Women in Music event.
Amid her endless supply of singles, Petras announced her major-label debut album, Feed The Beast, out June 23 via Amigo Records/Republic Records. And to celebrate her groundbreaking magazine cover, Petras performed a 14-track set of dance hits. Notable performances include “Alone,” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Hills,” and “Throat Goat.” Attendees also got sneak peeks of album tracks “Uh Oh, “Revelations” and “Sex Talk.”
“[On stage] I kind of feel like I have this like persona which really gives me confidence and strength. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would deliver, but everyone made me feel so beautiful and, like, I belong on the cover of Sports Illustrated.”

Regarding her forthcoming album, Petras talked to Open House Party’s podcast about the recording process. “I went to a million sessions, I worked with a bunch of people. [It’s] just the whole spectrum of what I’m about as a musician. I’m really excited for you to hear it! It has a sick concept, a sick title, and it has so many songs. It’s very exciting.”
