This past Wednesday, Baby Keem and Cousin to Kendrick Lamar collabed with his kin as both have albums dropping soon. The single “family ties” is the latest single coming from Baby Keem and it has his fans fiending for the new drop.
As expected from both West Side natives, the track is an absolute killer. The record stays true to both artists as creative poets showing love for one another. And with Kendrick Lamar’s Letter to Fans last week, this song almost seems like a passing of the torch.
Last Friday, the always inspiring Kendrick Lamar shocked the Hip-Hop hemisphere with an announcement of a new project: oklama.
While Kendrick closes one big chapter of his incredible rap career, Baby Keem is the new rookie on the block making waves. Named one of the XXL’s 2020 Freshman Class members, Keem first broke onto the scene in 2019 with “Orange Soda“.
Since then he has come out with 2019 mixtape, Die for My Bitch, as well as a few 2020/2021 singles like “hooligan/ sons & critics” and “no sense.”
His most recent song growing in popularity is also accompanied by a huge star by the name of Travis Scott. The two came together for this single “durag activity,” a slow-burning tune that appeared very briefly on the Billboard Hot 100.
Kendrick And Baby Keem
Baby Keem might have some strings being pulled with these amazing artists backing him up, but it’s for a reason. Keem’s unique approach to rap and flow is almost reminiscent of his cousin Kendrick. I wouldn’t put him anywhere near the Genius of Lamar, but he has time to develop.
And now is the time more than ever to show the world what he’s been working on. Hours after revealing the new single, Baby Keem also tweeted out something that has us all on the edge of our seats.

Keem’s upcoming debut studio album, The Melodic Blue will mostly to drop sooner more than later. There is no slowing down 2021 with new music as summer comes to an end. We are still waiting on Drake, we are still waiting on Kanye, and now we have Kendrick and Keem. So be on the lookout for Keem as well as more music news here on Music Daily.
