Keith Urban Features on Rita Ora’s ‘Shape of Me’

Keith Urban features on Rita Ora’s latest single, “Shape of Me.” The collab is a remix of a song originally on Ora’s album, You & I, which came out this past July. Urban adds a new, country flair to the ode to Ora’s mother.

Rita said on her social media, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! We’ve been through everything together, you’ve always been such a beautiful inspiration in my life and in my music. I wanted to write a song about you for the longest time, so when Shape Of Me was written by me and the You & I writing squad for my album and released I was finally able to share so much that i’ve been feeling about you.”

Ora continued with her appreciation. “It really became clear how much love you’ve shown me and how much you’ve taught me over the years!! SO, what better way to say HBD then to share a new version of it with the AMAZING @KeithUrban He helped me make it that much more special as this song is also showing appreciation to all the women in your life! So surprise mum this one is for you! Happy 60th!”

She also used social media to speak more about Keith Urban’s role in the song. “I got to know Keith so well when we were shooting The Voice in Australia, all the amazing women he has in his life from his daughters and his wife he’s such an amazing person, there’s no one else I can imagine doing this with. This song is so meaningful to me, I hope you all share it with the people you love that have helped shape you.”

Urban added, “Rita and I were coaches together for a couple of seasons on The Voice and clicked immediately. She asked if I’d like to be a part of “Shape of Me” and to no one’s surprise I asked if I could play guitar too.”

He continued, “I love how it turned out and am so glad we finally found the right song to collaborate on !”
