Colombian artist Karol G is no stranger to success and continues to break records with “Provenza” on Billboard Latin charts.

“Provenza” is Karol’s first solo song of 2022 and is suspected to be on their fourth album, which is still unannounced. The song features a dancehall theme, supported by tropical sounds like waves and lyrics that illustrate beach escape. The lyrics and music video tells an animated love story about wishing to live in a peaceful landscape. The production has hints of afro-dance beats, which pays tribute to a place in Medellín, her hometown.
The track was produced by Ovy On The Drums, a long-time producer of Karol’s music, and was behind the international hit “Tusa” with Nicki Minaj. Ovy also produced songs for Ed Sheeran, 6ix9ine, Paulo Londra, Becky G, and Bad Bunny.

However, the acclaim does not stop there. On the May 7th-ranking, Karol G accomplishes a new career milestone on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. With “Provenza” debuting at No. 2, her song “Mamiii,” with Becky G still held the No. 1 spot. She becomes the second woman (after Selena Quintanilla) to simultaniously hold the Nos. 1 and 2 since 1995.
Karol G took home six awards at the 2022 Billboard Women in Music event in April, a very good night for the singer-songwriter.
