Jamie XX Drops Fiery “KILL DEM”

Jaime XX is back with an infectious new track: “KILL DEM.” The electronic pop artist has been on a club banger streak recently, blessing us with the fire “LET’S DO IT AGAIN” in April.

An FX Craze

“KILL DEM” is incredibly rhythmic and choppy, but that doesn’t mean it’s hard to listen to. In fact, the distortion Jaime XX uses has been mastered to perfection, leading to a strangely addictive bop. The voice sample Jaime XX uses is wonderfully staccato and looped, and the bass line supports it with booming quality. The percussive club feel in this track and “LET’S DO IT AGAIN” seem to indicate what the future tracks in Jaime XX’s upcoming album will entail. “KILL DEM” is shaping up to be an autumn banger already! A Long Time DJ

Jaime XX, or James Thomas Smith, is an English DJ that originally started off in an indie pop band called “The xx.” Joining this band in 2005, they would go on to release a critically acclaimed and platinum album “xx” in 2009. Since the band’s debut success, the band has released 2 more albums and won the Mercury Prize in 2010.

Jaime XX would also go on to his own solo career, releasing 2 albums and 11 singles. Many of these singles would achieve Top 50 in the UK indie charts.

Also, in a recent premiere of “KILL DEM” on BBC Radio 1, Jaime XX revealed that he has many new projects in the works, which he would start stringing together into a coherent album.
