J Balvin and Ed Sheeran Join Forces For “Sigue” & “Forever My Love”

Global superstars and cultural icons J Balvin and Ed Sheeran teamed up to deliver a phenomenal musical collaboration with a 2-song EP, featuring “Sigue” and “Forever My Love.”

An Unexpected Friendship Turned Into Something Magical

The project was born out of an organic friendship between the two music legends when Sheeran recognized Balvin at a gym in New York and quickly became friends. The pair decided to take things into the studio, and we’re so glad they did!

“Sigue,” an upbeat reggaeton dance song, and “Forever My Love,” a beautiful love ballad, show Balvin and Sheeran’s unique ability to not only cross over between genres but also demonstrate that they have no limits when it comes to diversifying the type of music they write and perform. With the new songs, they prove that there aren’t any barriers to the language of music.

“I met J in a gym in New York last year,” Ed Sheeran shared. “It was just me and him very early in the morning. I recognized his voice when he was on the phone so I just went up and said hi. We chatted so long, we ended up having lunch and then afternoon tea. Then just went to being mates who chatted nonstop. I was in New York at Christmas for shows and we decided to have one day in the studio that led to so so much more.”

Is There More Music From J Balvin & Ed Sheeran Coming Soon?

He continued, “The first two songs we wrote were ‘Sigue’ and ‘Forever My Love’ and I absolutely love them. He wanted to bring me into his world, and I wanted to bring him into mine. It was a proper challenge learning Spanish for this and I had so much fun doing it. Hope you love it as much as I do and look out for more to come.”

With Sheeran hinting that there are more things from the pair coming soon, do you think they have more songs ready to share? I certainly wouldn’t mind! The two of them sound great together, and the fusion of such divergent genres into one song sounds just exceptional. We’ll keep an eye out for these two!
