I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME Drop “GLOOMTOWN BRATS”
Alternative band I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME have just released their second single off of their upcoming album. The song, “GLOOMTOWN BRATS,” is synth-filled and funky. It features Dallon Weekes, the frontman of iDKHOW, doing a rap in the same vein as Madonna’s “Vogue.” Weekes sings—and raps—satirically about those with money who are oblivious to the good it could do and only spend it frivolously.
“And with the right last name, you can cut in line
– Weekes, “GLOOMTOWN BRATS”
Or you can sell your soul if you’re so inclined
You just perpetuate expensive things and an upscale life
With the rich girls in Gloomtown”
In the official lyric video for the song, there’s a fun mistake in the song that Weekes embraces. During the bridge, Weekes sings, “Apocalypse, vanity,” when the official lyrics are actually, “Apocalypse of vanities.” Weekes leaves a parenthetical note in the video, saying, “(I sang the wrong lyric here, but it felt good, so I kept it).”
