He’s back, and better than ever! Hozier has just announced his new EP, “Eat Your Young,” set to be released on March 17th.
Getting To Know Hozier
So, who is Hozier? Born Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, Hozier is a sophisticated singer, songwriter, and musician. He is known for his unique use of storytelling and analogies in his songwriting, telling tales amidst catchy melodies and serene guitars. Moreover, he bridges the gaps between soul, folk, R&B, and gospel. He dives in head-first lyrically and transforms basic topics like love into beautifully tragic poetry. Whereas some artists feel like they belong on the radio, Hozier’s music feels like it belong in a gallery.
The Irish singer-songwriter has a penchant for delivering soothing, fervent tales of religion and mythology in his songs, which can be seen in “From Eden” and “Movement.” It’s difficult to encounter any person who doesn’t know every word to his hit song, “Take Me To Church,” which took over radio stations in 2013. Now, the song has been certified six-times platinum in the United States and is approaching two billions streams on Spotify. The single propelled the artist into stardom, and he hasn’t looked back since.
Finally, the Irish artist is returning with new music. His latest release, “Swan Upon Leda,” dropped in 2022 as part of his next album, “Unreal Unearth.” However, there still is no definitive release date for the album just yet. As such, fans have been left in the dark and eagerly awaiting new music. His last album, “Wasteland, Baby!” released four years ago, back in March of 2019. His self-titled album preceded Wasteland, all the way back in 2014. With so much time between each release, one can only hope Hozier takes advantage of the elapsed time and creates something beautiful. Until then, we must be satiated with “Eat Your Young.”
