Gus Dapperton Shares “Palms (With Channel Tres)”

The “Palms” Remix

Gus Dapperton just shared a new version of his hit “Palms.” The song is originally off of his 2020 album, Orca. This rework is a collab with the artist Channel Tres and it is aptly titled “Palms (With Channel Tres)”.

Channel Tres is a rising rapper, singer, and record producer. His hit song “Topdown” was featured in HBO’s hit tv show, Betty. Dapperton spoke about the remixed, re-released track and working with Channel Tres.

“I’m a huge fan of Channel and thought he would sound perfect on ‘Palms.’ I was so excited when he said he was down to do it and even more excited when I heard what his verse was sounding like. We met a while back at one of his shows and had a fun time hanging afterward. So glad it’s come full circle.”

Getting To Know Gus Dapperton

Gus Dapperton released his debut single, “Moodna, Once With Grace,” in 2016. He continued to release singles, then two EPs, but it was only in 2019 that he dropped his debut album, Where Polly People Go to Read. He wasted no time after making his second album, as he released Orca in 2020.

Critics responded well to both releases – as they should. Dapperton releases music in a genre that is well-tread by today’s youth in music. Bedroom pop artists have a certain reputation: unique haircuts, cool clothes, and emo lyrics that can be simultaneously immature and too serious.

But Dapperton is a real talent and someone that sheds that reputation to carve out his own path. His pop has substance, without forgetting to be fun.

A good indication of this is his fans. When the fans don’t take themselves too seriously, you can venture a guess that the artist doesn’t either. Among his music videos on Youtube, you can find dozens of covers and dance videos where the fans express joy through his songs.

You can stream Gus Dapperton’s new song on your favorite platform or purchase a physical copy of his album Orca on his online store.
