In arguably his best collaboration yet, Noah Kahan enlists the help of Hozier on his Stick Season track, “Northern Attitude.”
Stick Season Collaboration #6 With Hozier
During a surprise guest appearance at Iron Blossom Festival, Noah sang the fan-favorite “Work Song” with Hozier in the midst of his set back in August. A few months later, Hozier returned the favor and joined Kahan for his “Northern Attitude” performance in Nashville. With two collaborations under their belts, fans began to speculate whether a more official release would be on the horizon.
Noah Kahan is no stranger to collaborations; if anything, 2023 seems to be the year of Kahan working with a range of adored musicians on many of his Stick Season tracks. After releasing the deluxe version of the album in early June, Noah has since worked with Post Malone (“Dial Drunk”), Lizzy McAlpine (“Call Your Mom”) and Kacey Musgraves (“She Calls Me Back”), just to name a few. With a few weeks left in the year, fans are left wondering if Hozier will be the last collaboration, or if Noah has more up his sleeve for this era of music.
If you know me at all you know this collaboration is something very deeply special and important to me. I used to sit down at the table with my guitar and just try to capture a fraction of the emotion and beauty that hozier encapsulates in each song he writes. It never quite worked, but each song was better for trying. To have one of my heroes performing this song with me is something I’ll tell my grandkids, or at least my next dog. Noah Kahan Receives His First GRAMMY Nomination
Finally, after six years since his music debut, Noah Kahan has received his very first GRAMMY nomination under the Best New Artist category. He shares this nomination with pop artist Gracie Abrams, country artist Jellyroll, rapper Ice Spice and singer-songwriter Victoria Monét.
In an emotion-filled video posted to Instagram (@noahkahanmusic), Noah shared his reaction to his first GRAMMY nomination. You can see the emotions flood his face upon hearing his name read aloud, ranging from shock to excitement to disbelief. Fans ran to the comments, expressing their love and adoration for Kahan, calling his nomination long overdue and well-deserved. For some, the video is definitely a tear-jerker. All those years of hard work have finally paid off! Since then, Noah has repeatedly expressed gratitude to his fans, owing his nomination to the people who got him to where he is today:
