Gatecreeper Has Finished Recording Their 3rd Album

Death metal band Gatecreeper has wrapped up the recording process of their third album. It will be the band’s first album release since 2019.

Speaking to Metal Injection in 2022, lead singer Chase Mason discussed plans for what is now the band’s upcoming album.

“We put out a record [in] the first week of 2021… it was the pandemic so we were like ‘oh, we can’t tour. Let’s just make a record.’ It was a little bit of an experiment for us, but we’ve been working on our next full-length.”

They continued with, “We actually just started to schedule out to record it, which is after we get done with all these tours. In the first half of next year, we’re just gonna be working on a new record. We’re gonna have to stand our ground and set a hard rule of ‘alright, if whoever wants to take us out on tour for the first six months of next year, that’s coming and we’re gonna have to say no.’ We’re gonna have to do a new record. We’ve been working on. I’m not sure if it’ll be out next year, but we’re definitely going to get it recorded by next year.”

Gatecreeper released the EP An Unexpected Reality. 2019’s Deserted is their last full-length release. So, this new record is the first full-length release by the band post-pandemic.

Gatecreeper on the Road

The band recently performed a one-night-only show with Amon Amarth in Riverside, California. It was their second show in the U.S. after a return to their home state of Arizona. After a lengthy European summer tour, these shows were a great way to welcome the boys back. But their time in Europe is nothing to gloss over. Gatecreeper hit every major metal festival and tore up the stage in every country. Their stops included Hellfest, Alcatraz and Bloodstock.

We’re looking forward to both the album release and the subsequent U.S. tour.
