Future Tops Billboard Charts with New Song “Wait For U”

Rapper Future’s new song, “Wait For U” (feat. Drake & Tems), and album, I Never Liked You, have debuted at the top of Billboard’s hottest charts.

Future Makes the Biggest Chart Debut of 2022

Future’s new song, “Wait For U” (feat. Drake & Tems), debuted at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100. His newest album, I Never Liked You, also made its debut at the top of another Billboard chart: the Billboard 200. According to Gary Trust at Billboard, the album had extremely successful first-week sales, with 222,000 album units sold. This earned I Never Liked You the biggest album debut of 2022.

Future also has three other songs in the top 10 of the Hot 100: “Puffin On Zootiez” at No. 4, “712PM” at No. 8, and “I’m Dat N***a” at No. 10.

Trust says that “Wait for U” also debuted at the top of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs charts.

Collaboration with Drake and Tems Sets Music Records

Aside from the many accolades Future has collected with his new releases this week, “Wait For U” also brings the rapper to the Hot 100 leaderboard for the second time.

Drake also makes a big splash with the song’s release. According to Billboard, “Wait For U” is Drake’s 10th time at the top of the Hot 100. The song is his 55th song in the top 10 of the Hot 100, the 146th in the top 40, and the 261st overall. With the song being his 6th at the top of the Hot 100, Drake also breaks records by claiming the most No. 1 debuts on the Billboard chart.

Furthermore, “Wait For U” brings Tems to the No. 1 spot of the Hot 100 for her first time. However, it isn’t her first time on the charts. Tems was on the Hot 100 with Drake’s “Fountains,” and was in the top 10 with Wizkid’s “Essence.”

Suffice to say, Future’s album I Never Liked You definitely made an impact in music this past week!
