Forbes Announces “30 Under 30” Class of 2022 Recipients

Forbes announced its “30 Under 30” Class of 2022 list. In its music category, it recognized young artists that empower others all around the world. This year, musicians like Olivia Rodrigo, Fletcher, Chelsea Cutler, Jack Harlow, The Kid Laroi, and more joined the list. 

Olivia Rodrigo Joins Forbes’ “30 Under 30” List

To be eligible to join the list, artists much be under the age of 30 by December 31, 2021, and not have appeared on a previous “30 Under 30” list. Miley Cyrus, Justin Lubliner, Tayla Parx, and Phil Quist were part of the panel of judges that selected the artists that made the list. This year, it celebrated its 10th anniversary since the “30 Under 30’ list started, making it a big milestone.

The list runs with the tagline “What the future sounds like and the people making it happen.” It highlights artists that show their ability to accelerate the future of the music industry. “Fewer artists have had a bigger 2021 than teenage pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo. The Disney actress’s first album Sour solidified its spot as America’s favorite breakup album, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200,” Forbes wrote of 18-year-old Olivia Rodrigo.

“For her success and reach, Rodrigo was featured in a White House vaccine PSA alongside President Joe Biden and won three MTV VMAs including Best New Artist. She also has been nominated for seven 2022 Grammy Awards.”

Fletcher Also Earns the Honor

Forbes also highlighted pop musician ​​Fletcher, 27. “Forbes 30 under 30. I have tears of gratitude as I write this,” Fletcher wrote on social media. “Here’s to the power of manifesting your reality, believing in yourself, and following exactly where your heart wants to be. Thank you [Forbes Under 30]. Honored is an understatement. I cried.”
