Getting to Know Holly Humberstone
Meet Holly Humberstone, one of the UK’s fastest rising singer songwriters. She’s making warm acoustic tracks with a modern, electronic edge that’ll stay stuck in your head. Now, Holly is blowing up. But she’s just getting started.
This past December, Holly Humberstone received The Brit’s Rising Star Award of 2022. The award is given annually to an artist the academy believes will make the biggest impact on the industry in the coming year. Past winners include Adele, Florence + The Machine, and Sam Smith just to name a few. So make sure you get acquainted with Holly Humberstone before she becomes a household name.
Part of Holly’s charm is that her music doesn’t fit into one genre. She can effortlessly go dark and moody, like on the piano-led track, “London is Lonely.” This song tells the story of her move from her childhood home to London in 2020. She performed the track at The Brit Awards last month. Click here to check out her performance.
However, Holly also excels at giving us airy, glittering melodies, like on the title track of her 2021 EP, “The Walls Are Way Too Thin.” The song is a perfect example of Holly’s charismatic brand of pop, with emotional lyrics and an intoxicating chorus. Listen to the track here. Holly also recently shared a cover of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 U”. Take a listen here.
