Ez Mil just released his debut album, DU4LI7Yl: REDUX. It’s a killer debut, as the release put the fresh rapper on the Billboard Charts.
According to a Filipino news site, the single “Realest” was Number 3 in Rap and R&B Digital Sales Chart in its debut week. The news site also reported that the song ranked 10th in the All Genre Digital Sales Chart. It had over 4,000 downloads in its debut week.
Ez Mil, born Ezekiel Miller, hails from Olongapo, Philipines, but now resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2021 he went viral for his hit single, “Panalo (Trap Carinosa).” He initially signed with Virgin Music but is currently on Eminem and Dr.Dre’s labels Shady Records, Aftermath Entertainment, and Interscope Records.
In a statement released on the signing, the two iconic rappers said the following about the rising talent.
“We’ve never been out there signing a lot of artists, and one of the great things about how we built Shady is how selective we’ve been. And it’s even rarer that Dre and I sign something together—but I heard Ez’s music and was like, ‘this is really special’ so I took it to Dre. We both agreed it would be a great fit and we wanted to work with him right on the spot,” said Eminem.
Eminem also shared Ez Mil’s music video for “Up Down” on Twitter and said, “This is why we signed him.”
Dr. Dre added the following.
“I’m really only interested in working on shit that sounds different from anything else going on out there, and only then if I feel I can really bring something to it. Em played me [Ez Mil] and I had that feeling…that thing that happens when we both know we’ve found something special. And that was it….let’s get to work.”
