Elton John & Charlie Puth Join Forces For “After All”

Pop legend Elton John and global star Charlie Puth joined forces for a brand new song. “After All” is a piano-driven ballad that will be featured on Elton’s upcoming album The Lockdown Sessions.

Elton John has tons of music prepared for the rest of the year. His last collaboration with Dua Lipa, “Cold Heart,” got fans of all ages together to enjoy the disco-pop track. Now, he is back with a new offering off his upcoming album, but this time the song sounds a little different, proving his versatility.

“After All” is a Piano-Driven Ballad About Being in Love

“After All” talks about falling in love for the very first time, after a lot of failed attempts. “Oh, oh, nothing compares to you. Oh no, baby. They were just doin’ it wrong. I gave up on love until you made me believe in it after all. After all, mmm,” they sing in the chorus.

Along with the release of the new song, Elton took to Instagram to celebrate the big news and thank Charlie for working with him. “Amazing to think that it was just over 18 months ago that Charlie was introduced to me in a restaurant in Los Angeles. I’d always been a huge fan, and we laughed about the fact that we lived only 4 houses away from each other.”

“Almost immediately the world went into COVID lockdown, so Charlie became part of my family’s bubble. With time on our hands, he invited me up to his house for a songwriting session in his home studio. ‘After All’ was the song we created, and I was thrilled with how well it turned out.”

Little did I know that song would kickstart a series of joyful collaborations over the next several months. The end result is my new album The Lockdown Sessions. I haven’t had this much fun making an album in years.”

On the other side, Charlie himself celebrated the news of Elton’s upcoming album when its tracklist was announced. “I’m so honored to be a part of your album Elton, as you are a huge reason why I pursued music in the first place.”

The Lockdown Sessions comes out on October 22! Are you excited about its release?
