Your late teens and early twenties are hard – that’s no secret. Sometimes life feels monotonous, bland, or like you’re just going through the motions. Instead of taking life at face value, I wanted to find ways to remind myself of how fun it could be. I decided to compile a playlist of songs that make me feel confident and content. Below is “Dom’s Hot Girl Playlist”.
Life Lessons from the Hottie Coach
Perhaps the most important tracks on the list are by hottie coach Megan Thee Stallion. Her approach to life is about keeping things fun and recognizing your own worth. I’ve included “Thot Shit,” “Plan B,” “Girls in the Hood” and “Hot Girl Summer” (ft. Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign). Each track reminds me that that being 100% myself is a good thing, and that I should never apologize for being independent. Plus, all four tracks are ones that I scream/sing to in the car… and that’s just fun to do.
Had to Include JB
Being the Justin Bieber stan that I am, I had to include his “Peaches” remix with Usher, Ludacris and Snoop Dogg. Four icons together on one track that’s just perfect for summer, right? Count me in. Other songs in my playlist are from the likes of Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Doja Cat, and more. I can’t resist singing/rapping along to every one of them, and many of them make me reminisce about my college days.
A Playlist When Life Gets Hard
This playlist is more of a time-capsule to me than a working project. I have not added any songs since I created it, and don’t really intend to. “Dom’s Hot Girl Playlist” reminds me of a turning point in my life, where I was transitioning from college to post-grad studies and jobs. I was discovering a new version of myself, even if life felt the same altogether. I recommend listening to this playlist in a variety of places: your car, the gym, in your bedroom, in the shower, and anywhere else you might need a pick-me-up. Even though I labeled it a “hot girl” track list, anyone can benefit from the wise words of Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat.
