Last Tuesday, multi-platinum and 3-time Grammy nominee, Doja Cat released her highly anticipated music video for her global smash “Streets”. The video pays homage to the viral silhouette challenge that has taken TikTok by storm.
The timing of this couldn’t be more significant too. In a few days, one of the biggest music award show will feature her.
“Streets” is the background music to the viral “Silhouette Challenge”. It’s TikTok’s newest sensation with nearly 750k creations from everyone like Doja Cat herself, Lizzo, Tiffany Haddish, and more.
The single has garnered over 343M streams worldwide, and is on Doja Cat’s critically acclaimed sophomore album Hot Pink which came out in late 2019.

Its been a big year for Doja and she doesn’t plan on slowing down. Proving she is a mainstay artist with the release of tracks like “Tia Tamera” ft. Rico Nasty and her breakout hit “Juicy” ft. Tyga which appears on her sophomore album Hot Pink.
Now the chart topping rapper/singer/songwriter/producer is taking the awards scene by storm.
She took home hardware from the VMAs for Best New Artist, her first major award win. Since then she has also won the Best New Artist Award at the 2020 EMAs where she also performed her hit song “Say So.” AMAs has also awarded her Best New Artist and Best Female Soul/R&B Artist.

Doja Cat is pushing the representation of women in Hip Hop. With other strong female heavy hitters like Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat will be performing for the 2021 Grammys show.
Whether it is live and in person, or a virtual performance, we expect Doja Cat to finish out her sophomore campaign with a few more awards under her already heavy belt.
