Rapper Doja Cat is headlining the Victoria’s Secret World Tour. Part of the World Tour is her performance of two new songs. The other half of the program is an Amazon Prime Documentary on her life.
This is the first televised Victoria’s Secret runway show since 2018. The iconic lingerie brand always has the biggest stars in the music industry performing as the models walk the runway. The Weeknd, Florence Welch, Bruno Mars, Halsey, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, and even Destiny’s Child are among those who lit up the stage for the runway.
Doja Cat Spills Victoria’s Secret
In an August interview for Harper’s Bazaar, Doja Cat said the following about the news: “Victoria’s Secret has always been such a fun, go-to brand for me since early on, and I love that I can still say that today. Being a part of a global phenomenon like the Tour has been an incredible experience. My idea of what makes me beautiful, sexy, and confident has evolved so much over the years, but I’ve always known that what matters most is how I feel about myself. To me, sexy is being comfortable in my own skin and celebrating myself for who I am. Being a part of the Tour really helped connect me with that.”
Regarded the new music, Doja Cat added: “I don’t want to spoil too much, but like past projects, there’s lots of different energy to songs, plus new sounds that I’ve never explored before. So that is exciting to me, and I can’t wait to put it out.”
As for the fashion show itself, five years without a televised show is a long time to build hype. The lingerie brand is both controversial as well as beloved. There’s no escaping its iconic pink motifs whenever entering a mall or outlet in the United States, It should be interesting to see what’s changed since the last televised runway show.
