Coldplay Teases Colab With Selena Gomez

Coldplay and Selena Gomez are joining forces for a new song called “Let Somebody Go,” set to be featured in the band’s upcoming album Music of The Spheres; which officially comes out on October 15.

Selena Teased the Song on Twitter

Eager to share the news with her fans, Selena took over to Twitter to tease the new song. She did so by simply posting a visual of a re-imagined, technicolor version of planet Earth rotating in space, and tagging Coldplay along with it. The brief video also gave fans a sneak peek of the track, on which both Selena and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sing, “When I called the mathematicians and I asked them to explain. They said love is only equal to the pain.”

Coldplay Have Huge Projects Ahead of Them

A source told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, “Chris has always been a huge fan of Selena and it’s a dream come true that she’s finally singing on a Coldplay record. He wrote a beautiful ballad for her which they recorded together in April. They already have plans for a special live performance around the launch of the band’s album. She is massively popular with young people so the group hopes that collaborations like this will help keep the next generation fans of the group.”

In the meantime, Coldplay is taking over the charts with their recent collaboration with BTS on “My Universe”. Released on September 24, the song debuted at Nos. 38 and 42 on the Alternative Airplay and Rock & Alternative Airplay charts. The debut marked BTS’ first appearance on the rock and alternative charts.

Coldplay later announced they’ll be doing a week-long residency on The Late Late Show With James Corden from October 18-21 in support of Music for Spheres, where they will debut “Let Somebody Go” with Selena as well as a special performance of “Human Heart” with We Are KING and Jacob Collier.
