After lighting up TikTok with nothing more than a short snippet, R&B trap star Coi Leray officially has dropped the full of her new single “No More Parties.” Released late January, the song features melodic piano and throwback bass that Coi coasts through while flexing her vocal range.
Coi Leray’s TikTok Blow Up
Last week, Coi teased out “No More Parties” with a brief clip on TikTok. It exploded with 42 million views, 8.9 million “likes,” 313K comments, and 277K shares.
Coi Leray’s recent EP continues to put up numbers and attract critical acclaim with over 12 million streams. The six-track project showcases newfound vocal maturity and musical evolution, emphasizing her depth and range.
Like Laray says in her song, she’s “off to better things” with this soothing hit. The song talks about how Coi is only doing things that will elevate. Hanging out with fake people and going out to parties doesn’t elevate her her, so she is cutting them off.
Coi Leray is making a name for herself as part of a new generation of female rappers; her commanding verses and angelic voice back it up.
More To Come From
The music video for “No More Parties” is expected to premiere soon as the song paves the way for more music to come. Watch out for Coi Leray as she launches a massive year.
The 23-year-old rapper, who is the daughter of rap legend Ray “Benzino” Scott, began getting attention from her album Everythingcoz in March 2018. Since then it has been non-stop for the rapper/singer with the EP EC2 in 2019 and Now Or Never last year.
Since bringing the holiday spirit with “Merry Xmas”, Leray has been on a tear with music video’s and singles for an upcoming album. We should see more from the rising female rapper in the months to come.
