Pier 17’s summer concert series is described as a “one-of-a-kind concert atmosphere featuring your favorite artists with the iconic NYC skyline as the backdrop.” Does that sound like something you want to sit out on?
With about 60 rooftop dates, Pier 17 is beginning to look like the new summer spot for New Yorkers and travelers. With plenty of artists and parties, the scene at the pier is looking as musical as ever.
There are many events that look like a blast. The series begins on May 3rd with the rock band Coheed and Cambria. From there, they have events almost every day. There are many artists making stops on their tours to come perform at Pier 17. On July 11th, T-Pain will be performing for his tour, Escape From Wiscansin: The Invasion. On July 14th, YUNGBLUD will also be making a stop for his world tour. Additionally, Macklemore will be performing there on September 22nd.
There are also some dance party events. On June 17th, they’ll be holding Reggae Fest Blaze, a 21+ event for reggae fans to dance to the best dance hall, reggae, soca, and afrobeats. on August 26th, the Gimme Gimme Disco 5 Year Anniversary Festival will be taking place at the rooftop. Not to mention, to kick off Pride, drag queen and winner of “RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” season 3 Trixie Mattel is DJ’ing a Solid Pink Disco party. Disco and reggae do make for a perfect summer.
