Rising artist BXB LOVE unveiled the music video for her second single “IGNORANCE SONG,” released in May.
BXB LOVE is a True Rockstar
The Canadian-born, Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and artist Natasha Pheko — better known as BXB LOVE — premiered the music video on FLAUNT. It is now available on her YouTube channel as well.
“IGNORANCE SONG” is a bold, gritty alt-rock number that encourages us to be who we want to be; not what the world wants us to be. The music video represents BXB LOVE’s experience of bursting out of the constructs she had created for herself. In it, we see her displaying an uninhibited expression of play, rebellion, and freedom.
“One thing that I’ve loved about creating and sharing this project thus far is that it’s allowed me to tap into dreams, ideas, and modes of creative play that I hadn’t really connected with since I was a kid. Making this music video was literally an opportunity for me to live out part of my childhood rockstar fantasies” BXB LOVE says. “Smashing shit, shouting into the camera, riding in the back of a sick car with beautiful people. Jumping around in the sunset, guitar solos, clothes that made me feel like a bad*ss… I mean…. come on! It was a blast!”
She’s Ready to Break Barriers
BXB LOVE captures the charm, discomfort, and introspection of being “20-something in the year 20-something” through amazing musical production, reflective lyricism, and creative works. She steps out of the box, allowing her artistic expression to reflect the world around her.
By purposefully choosing an ambiguous pseudonym, BXB LOVE explores the human experience’s fluidity. She liberates herself from the expectations placed on women of color in the music industry. She demonstrates she’s ready to break down personal, projected, and perceived barriers.
Keep an eye out for this amazing artist!
