Get To Know Blu DeTiger
We have a new artist that you need to discover: Blu DeTiger, a 24-year-old pop musician from New York. She has been releasing music officially since 2019, debuting with “In My Head.” Since then, she has been sharing multiple singles throughout the years. Some of her most popular ones being “Figure It Out” and “Cotton Candy Lemonade.” Both currently surpass 14 million streams, and we have no doubt that those numbers will keep growing!
She Takes The Control On “Elevator”
“Elevator” marks the fifth single that Blu has shared this year. It follows July’s collaboration with Biig Piig on “Crash Course,” as well as her solo singles “Blutooth,” “enough 4 u,” and “Hot Crush Lover.” We can’t wait to see what else she has in store!
“Elevator” is a strong dark-pop track where Blu makes things clear to someone. She doesn’t like them nor does she want anything to do with them. “Try reading my lips / (I don’t want you, I don’t need you) / I’m pressing the switch…I’ll check you off of my list,” she sings in the chorus.
Blu spoke about the new track in a statement. “‘Elevator’ is an upbeat, tongue-in-cheek way of expressing how I feel when I’m stuck in the elevator (of life),” she says.
“It’s about moments when I’m down and need to be taken back up. The song is about turning a bad situation, like being caught in an elevator with someone you don’t like or just feeling down, and going through it and getting past it. It’s encouraging. The lyric ‘I could be a big shot too’ reminds me that I can take control of my own journey and path.”
The song is accompanied by a visual, directed by Christina Bryson. Altogether, Blu does a great job getting the message of “Elevator” across and makes us all get up and sing along. Go watch it now!
