“Blood Sweat Tears”: Solence And Their Rock Opera

Alternative metal band, Solence, is back at it again! This time they’ve given us a straight up rock opera with their song “Blood Sweat Tears”. So without further ado, let’s get into it, shall we?

Solence And Their Rock Opera

Putting things simply, there’s a lot that goes into being a success. In the words of Lizzo: “It takes ten years to become an ‘overnight success’.” As for Solence, this song really encapsulates all that in a sort of “pat-on-the-back” way. The delicate and somber opening deals with the sacrifices they made to get where they are. “We’ve bled and tortured our souls / Been going through the lowest lows / Try getting better than before (Blood sweat tears) / The sacrifices made us cold / Relationships been put on hold / We can’t withdraw what we have done,”

Markus Videsäter really shows off just how versatile his voice can be in “Blood Sweat Tears.” As the opening verse closes, the lead up to the second comes with an explosion! Solence puts such raw power in it and reminds me of their previous single “Rain Down”. And while things do go in ways you might expect from the band, that guitar solo at the end- just WOW!

I think I’ll just leave it here, this one’s a real banger so go ahead and give it a full listen! For more on your favorites and unknowns check out our Word and Drops sections.
