BLACKPINK is hosting their YouTube Challenge #PinkVenom to lead up to their album release of Born Pink.

Kpop girl group BLACKPINK is currently hosting their own YouTube Shorts Challenge—#PinkVenomChallenge. For this challenge, BLINKs, BLACKPINK fans, can create a Short showcasing their dance moves for “Pink Venom.” The single “Pink Venom” came out August 19th. Since then, BLINKs have been able to show their all with the #PinkVenomChallenge. The challenge will run up to September 15th, just one day before Born Pink drops.

“Pink Venom” Breaking Records
Billboard’s Rania Aniftos reports that, in a press statement, Lyor Cohen, YouTube’s global head of music, spoke about the effect of BLACKPINK. “Every time BLACKPINK releases new music, they up their game to the next level and I am certain that ‘Pink Venom’ will be no different,” Cohen said. “I’m all about the #PinkVenomChallenge on Shorts – it’s going to be amazing to see what Blinks around the world create.”
Aniftos also reported in another article that “Pink Venom” became Spotify’s most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day this year so far. “Pink Venom” also scored YouTube’s biggest music video debut in 24 hours in 2022. It also became the third-largest 24-hour music video debut of all time.
BLACKPINK’s ‘Born Pink’
“Pink Venom” is BLACKPINK’s first single off of their upcoming album. Born Pink will be the girls’ second Korean studio album. It follows their 2020 debut Korean full-length album, The Album. Though The Album was BLACKPINK’s first full-length album, the stars have been making music for years.
BLACKPINK has been making a splash in the Kpop industry ever since their 2016 debut. They’ve also been one of the big Kpop acts to make a huge impact in the U.S. Their debut single album, Square One, quickly topped charts across the world, including Billboard.
